My Family - My Inspiration
About Me:
I was born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and lived there when I was young. I spent the rest of my childhood in West DePere and graduated from West DePere High School in 1989.
When the 2021-22 school year begins, I will be entering my 27th year of teaching. I live in the Pulaski Community School District with my husband, Pat, who is the current Principal at Pulaski Community Middle School, my two daughters, Maddie, who will be a junior at Carthage College this fall, Ava, who will be a sophomore at PHS, my son, Hayden, who will be a 6th grader at PCMS, and our three furry family members, Gus, Walter, and Oliver. I have worked in the Pulaski Community School District for 24 years. During those years I have served as a special education teacher, Learning Support Teacher, taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, and as the district's 4th and 5th grade virtual teacher. My interest include spending time with my friends and family (my dogs included), walking, and gardening. I consider my strengths to be project-based learning, literacy and math instruction, differentiating to meet individual student learning needs, creating a collaborative and comfortable classroom, establishing positive relationships with children, serving as a child advocate, and teaching to the heart of every child. |

Educational Quotes I carry with me every day:
"Within even the reluctant student there is a small part that wants desperately to learn. The strength of the desire is determined by someone's belief in him or her." ~Author Unknown
"I've come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It's my personal approach that creates the climate. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or deescalated and a child is humanized or dehumanized." ~Haim Ginott
